Deana Strunk is the owner of Amshore Renewable Energy. The company specializes in developing sustainable energy solutions for utility companies and independent power producers looking to expand their renewable energy projects.
Amshore™ has originated and developed solar and wind energy facilities generating 2.7 gigawatts of power covering over a half a million acres, and the company offers advanced energy management control and novel energy storage systems.
Deana has more than 40 years in the energy business. Before helping establish and owning Amshore Renewable Energy, she was Vice President and Director at American Shoreline, Inc., an oil and gas exploration and development company established in 1979.
Prior to her energy career, she worked in the legal, transportation and banking industries.
Scott Casterline is Chief Executive Officer at Amshore Renewable Energy. He has run successful businesses for more than 30 years with a special focus in contract negotiation, client and career management, legal and other areas of business leadership.
In addition to his role at Amshore Renewable Energy, Scott is well-regarded as one of the best negotiators in NFL history. He has negotiated more than USD$1 billion in contracts for more than 300 clients in his 30 years in the sports agency management business.
Scott received his bachelor’s in business administration (BBA) with a major in finance from Baylor University. He also played football and baseball at Baylor University and was a Letterman athlete.
Cas Purdy is Executive Vice President at Amshore Renewable Energy. He is responsible for maximizing the company’s operating performance and achieving its goals. He has a broad range of responsibilities including strategic planning, marketing and communications, human resources, information technology, and more. Cas brings to Amshore unique management skills, demonstrated leadership and the ability to solve problems. He has 20+ years of experience in business leadership focused on marketing, strategic planning and growth initiatives. Previously, he was Vice President and Head of Marketing at cybersecurity leader Trustwave. During his tenure there, he and his team drove brand awareness and pipeline creation for the company resulting in growth and an eventual $850M acquisition by Singapore’s leading telco provider Singtel. He also held leadership roles at other companies including IBM, Websense and Guidance Software. He received his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin, and he studied French at the University of Paris (La Sorbonne).
John C. Heymann is Chief Operating Officer at Amshore Renewable Energy overseeing the company’s general development operations.
He began his career in 1975 at Pennzoil Producing Company in Houston, Texas, analyzing and summarizing oil and gas leases purchased by the company, covering lands in the State of Texas. Later, in 1976 he went to work as a landman for a public drilling fund company, Centura, Inc., and subsequently, American Shoreline, Inc. where he ran title, purchasing and administering oil and gas leases for the company. John eventually became the Land Manager and Executive Vice President of Operations for American Shoreline, Inc. where he oversaw all aspects of the exploration and production operations of the company ranging from buying oil and gas leases to selling production from those leases to pipelines and end users.
John has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in finance and accounting. He also graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1988. John was licensed to practice law in Texas on May 5, 1989, and has been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Energy Law since December of 1995.
Mark Ward is Managing Director at Amshore Renewable Energy, responsible for developing and executing growth strategies for the company. As part of those strategies, he brings added value to the development of existing and future customer projects with the integration of innovative technologies that include artificial intelligence (AI) and energy storage.
Mark has more than 35 years of experience primarily in the power and energy sectors. He has served in senior management positions for private equity, independent power producers, investor-owned utilities and engineering and construction firms. His experience includes business and strategy development, project development, and management, mergers and acquisitions, asset management and generation planning. During his career, he has planned, developed, constructed, acquired/sold, financed and managed more than 10,000 megawatts of coal, coal gasification, natural gas, wind, solar and waste-to-energy assets valued at nearly $11 billion.
Prior to joining Amshore, Mark was Director of Renewables at Tampa Electric Company, managing the company’s solar program valued at more than $1.7 billion. He executed the company’s renewable energy strategy that includes more than 1,200 megawatts of utility-scale solar and its first energy storage project. He also led the purchase of more than 7,000 acres of land, procurement of more than 9 million solar modules, project development and construction of utility-scale solar projects to meet corporate business growth goals.
Previously, Mark founded the Global Sustainable Energy Group LLC (GSEG) which provided energy consulting services to private equity, renewable energy companies, power EPC companies and utilities. Earlier, he formed Mesa Power Group with T. Boone Pickens where he served seven years as an executive officer. He has also held a variety of other energy-related leadership positions at companies including TXU Energy, Shaw Group, Entergy Asset Management and Nichols Research Corporation (NCR). Early in his career, he also served in the US Army Missile Command.
Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and he continued his education with post graduate studies in engineering management and engineering optics.
Eric Briones is a Senior Project Developer at Amshore Renewable Energy. He has developed and project managed utility-scale wind and solar projects for Amshore since 2013. He is responsible for executing the company’s project portfolio while managing all activities associated with project development as well as providing oversight to the executive team with prospect due diligence.
Eric received his bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University.
Aaron Young is a Senior Project Developer at Amshore Renewable Energy. He is responsible for developing commercial-scale wind and solar projects throughout the United States. Aaron joined Amshore in 2014 and has developed and assisted in the development and construction of the 2.7 gigawatts of Amshore-originated projects.
Aaron received a bachelor’s of science degree in Wind Energy with a concentration in Project Development from Texas Tech University. He was a leader in the Wind Energy Student Association where he represented the Texas Tech Wind Energy Department at the American Wind Energy Association annual conferences during his time at the university.
Aida Guzman is Land and Lease Administrator at Amshore Renewable Energy.
She has more than 35 years of administrative experience. Aida manages Amshore wind real estate contracts for development projects including processing of lease procurements, rental/easement agreement payments and support landowner relations and conveyance of real estate documentation to landowners. She also supports with title review and curative efforts and supports the team with specific legislative and public relations campaigns, efforts and due diligence. She provides additional support with lease/project mapping, recordation of documents in various counties and title search support.
Aida studied legal at Del Mar College. She is an active member of the local Desk and Derrick Club of Corpus Christi, Texas.
